Politi covers international trade, U.S. trade policy, globalization, the IMF and the World Bank as the world trade editor for The Financial Times. Previously, he served as the FT’s Rome bureau chief, where he led the coverage of Italian politics, economics and the Vatican. Politi was also a U.S. economics and trade correspondent based in Washington D.C., assisting in coverage of the Federal Reserve and the U.S. Treasury Department.
