We couldn’t be more excited about all the new elements coming up at this year’s Texas Tribune Festival, but our need for dedicated volunteers to help us with jobs large and small remains. Along with all the other changes to our 2018 event, we’re revamping the volunteer program.

My #TribFest18 Commitment

Volunteers will be required to commit to a minimum of one 4-hour shift between Sept. 27 and 29. In exchange, you will receive a pass to attend one day of programming of your choice at the Festival. We’ll outfit you in an official #TribFest18 volunteer t-shirt, and you’ll be credited hours toward a Texas Tribune membership.

All volunteers in good standing will be invited to a post-Fest thank-you party, scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 10 from 7 - 10 p.m. at Saengerrunde Halle (1607 San Jacinto Blvd., Austin).

Want to know more about what volunteering for #TribFest18?

Join us for an information session to get introduced to Tribune staff and the event, and hear more about what kinds of help we’ll need. If you are a returning volunteer, come hear about the changes to our program.

All information sessions (other than virtual session) will take place at:

Studio 919 at the Texas Tribune
919 Congress Ave., Sixth floor
Austin, TX 78701

Earn Your Texas Tribune Membership

The Texas Tribune is a nonprofit newsroom, and we believe that membership is the top rung of engagement with our audience. By committing your time for 12 or more volunteer hours, you will earn a Texas Tribune membership. We’re kicking off this new volunteer program with Festival, but you will have more opportunities over the course of the year to help us with events in Austin and around the state.
